A winter weather advisory continues until noon tomorrow for Ashland, Iron, Vilas, and Price counties for 3-6" of snow in the higher terrain of the Penokee Range. Lower amounts are forecast for the lower terrain along Lake Superior.
In Ashland, rain began lightly around 06:40 and began changing over to snow around 10:00. The first snow melted on contact with the warm ground and grass, but 1" accumulated by 13:00.
The Weather Story from DLH is a great image. Lots going on due to the one great Lake Superior. I am excited that you are getting the snow now. Do you still have ties with your previous home? I wonder how much has fallen over there.
ReplyDeleteDown here it's just wet and relatively warm, 45° as I type. Overcast and calm conditions as well. I have lots of autumn clean up to do yet and my basswood still has leaves, so I am somewhat happy that we didn't get a bunch of snow. Don't get me wrong, though, had we gotten a bunch I would be happier than and kid in a candy store.
Great to see an update on the Northern Wisconsin Weather blog!
