Sunny and quiet yesterday, more of the same today.

This morning was cool in most locations, below-average actually, but we really can't complain.

This picture (to the right) is from the online webcam of Lake Five (weather station), just a few miles outside of Clam Lake. The timestamp at the image's corner reads 34.6 degrees at 6:40 this morning.

The forecast low temperature for my location was 34 degrees, I fell only to 37.6, but I was lucky it wasn't colder. My high temperature yesterday was 62.6 degrees at 16:15, today is forecast to be a little cool across the region - mainly upper 50s and lower 60s.

A chilly morning across the western Great Lakes.

From US Weather Statistics I pulled this image (to the left) at 6:00. It shows the temperature difference compared to 24 hours ago.

At 6:00 it was up to 18 degrees cooler than yesterday morning across eastern Wisconsin and western Lower Michigan.

The average low temperature of most locations across Wisconsin should now be above 32 degrees, some fell below:

25 Phillips, Price Co.
25 Athelstane - 2 miles SE, Marinette Co.
25 Land O'Lakes, Vilas Co.
27 Harrison, Lincoln Co.
28 Port Wing - 3 miles E, Bayfield Co.
28 Presque Isle, Vilas Co.
29 Nekoosa - 6 miles SE, Wood Co.
29 Hayward - 2 miles NE, Sawyer Co.
29 Laona, Forest Co.

Lake Superior water levels recovering.

I found new water-level information on NWS Marquette's page this morning (to the right).

While the current water level is below the long-term average (the grey dots) it is higher than last year (the red line) and forecast to continue rising (the blue dots).

After a two year drought in the Lake Superior basin, this is very good news!!
