Fall colors in the backyard have reached peak this last week, elsewhere on Maple Hill there are large tracts of the forest that have yet to reach full color.
Today was sunny and bright, a light southwest wind was enough to make leaves fall of the trees but not too much to be chilly. Highs across the region made it to the lower 70s. On the Hill my high temperature was 73.3 degrees.
Current conditions:
Temp: 73.3 Dewpoint: 53 rising from 44 Barometer: 29.91 "Hg slowly rising Windspeeds: 1 mph from the W
Tomorrow has severe potential?
The Storm Prediction Center has placed the Upper Midwest in a slight risk of severe thunderstorms tomorrow. A warm front will be draped across the region, storms will be elevated north of the front and may be severe at times. If storms can root themselves at the surface along the front, there will be enough shear present to induce rotation in the storms. At this time it looks like large hail north of the warm front will be the largest threat.
Also, heavy rain will be present in the storms. Forecasted rainfall amounts lock to be between 0.50" and 1.50" by Friday night.
