This week's update of the Regional Drought Monitor was released, and with the recent storms, I wanted to compare the last two weeks. My headline gives away the punchline, but the maps show the message.
The darkest red in northern WI, western UP, far northeastern MN, and back into central MN, is EXTREME DROUGHT. MODERATE DROUGHT continues into central Wisconsin, and most of Minnesota remains too dry.
The Climate Predition Center shows very little hope for significant rainfall in the next two weeks (through Sept 12). With this outlook, conditions will continue to decline.
