29. Cool weekend & dry. Lake Superior hits a new low.
The last three days were cooler and drier with a high pressure sliding across the region. Clear skies and calm winds let overnight temperatures dip into the 40s in most places, I managed to bottom out at 50.8 early Sunday morning. Sunday also saw a gusty south wind return, bringing warmer temps and some more humid air, ahead of a low pressure/cold front combo forecast to slowly move through the region on Monday night and Tuesday morning.
Also of note: Lake Superior has reached a new record low! More information on this below.

"According to the Army Corps of Engineers... Lake Superior has set a new record low level for the month of August. The mean lake level dropped to 600.4 feet above mean sea level. The previous low for August was 600.5 set in 1926. The lake will likely stay at this level through Autumn."
