A cold front moved through about 22:00, triggering some scattered storms to our east and south (over Gogebic County in the UP and Ashland and Iron Counties in WI). This is a clipped radar image from 23:00. (the light blue on the left side is just ground clutter near the radar site) I saw a few flashes of lightning, but that was all we received here on the hill.
Today (Thur, 16 Aug)
A cool start today: the morning low was 54.8 at 06:47, and the barometer has been rising since bottoming out at 21:00 last night, 30.06 "Hg as of 09:25 this morning. The dewpoint has been dropping, 43 F currently, so the air has been drying. The clear sky has allowed the sun to warm us to 61.5, but that's pretty cool considering it's still mid-August!
Today is forecast to be a cool day with a high around 70 F (the average high temperature for today is between 76 and 78 F) with winds in the upper teens gusting to 20 from the WNW this afternoon.
